Kitchen Log – Chicken Hamburger

It was a lousy Sunday, the only day I had at home for that weekend. I woke up pretty late afternoon, to find that my refrigerator is almost empty. Since I don’t want to for a full shopping, we (me and my roomie, Shijil) decided to go for something that we can make with what is available at home for dinner.

After much deliberation, we decided to go with Hamburger, since we had some Buns with us. We didn’t get all the ingredients in our local store since it was a Sunday. But we made the Burger.

Here’s the recipe:

For Patty – Required (or rather available) items:

1. Boneless Chicken Cooked and grated/grinded – 400 gms
2. Onion chopped -1
3. Egg white – 1
4. Salt – to taste
5. Pepper -1 tsp
6. Green Chillies finely chopped – 2
7. Egg whipped – 1
8. Bread crump

Mix the contents 1-6, divide into required pieces and shape them.

Burger Patty Mix

Dip them in whipped egg and coat with bread crump.

Burger Patty

Refrigerate this for 1 hour.

Fry Burger Patty

In a pan, add a little oil and fry the patties.

Fried Patty

Split the Bun, add patties and garnishing.

Garnishings

Unfortunately for us, nothing other than onions, tomato and cheese where available.

Dear riyaz,

you can put some lettuce leaves and mayonnaise to the burger bun….

to the bun, slit it into half, then spread mayonnaise, and then put the lettuce leaves, and then put the onion and then the chiken tikki, then the tomato and then the top part. Put a tooth pick across, with a small cherry inserted….

Eat the burger with English mustard or mayonnaise or tomato sauce…..

and a small correction, it would be chicken burger, and not hamburger, because hamburger means it is made with beef, and comes from a place called Hamburg in Germany….
